The Face Behind the Blog

Hey there---My name is Lesley! This blog was a dream of mine for many years, but I kept putting it off because in my crazy life, how in the world could I possibly keep up with ONE. MORE. THING! But, the Lord kept speaking and nudging me, so I finally realized that if he has called me, then he will provide the time, energy and words I need to make it happen. My goal is not to have a plethora of readers--honestly if my story speaks to one person, than I have done what I feel I was called to do. Last year the Lord told me to tell my story---and I questioned him how and why. This blog is how I feel he has called me to do that. My story is not great--actually its quite filthy with lots of failures, lots of mess up's and the ugliness that is real life. But its all a testament to the Lord's faithfulness AND that's what I think he wants you to hear!
But know I am nothing special. I am just a woman. And....

A daughter of God....

And a daughter to my parents, a sister to my siblings, a granddaughter, a friend who loves hard and someone who likes to do things a bit "unconventionally!"

A wife and Mother....

I met my husband in 2000, was married in 2001 and have been blessed with two amazing kids! Being a mom changed my life---in ways I never could have imagined.  I have realized the Lord knew he could really teach me  A LOT through mothering these two little people. Its probably my biggest struggle. Mothering does not come natural or easy to me---so I am thankful I serve  God who can fill in where I lack and mess up.

And a Labor Doula and Trainer....

Serving women and families as they bring their babies into this world is the best job I never could have imagined existed!! So not only do I get to see the most miraculous moment in a families journey over and over again, but I also train other women in finding this as their calling. Being a doula is nothing short of a calling--their are jobs you can go in and do, and then their are jobs where once you step into them, you know with all your being that you were created to do them. Being a doula and doula trainer is that for me. Being a doula has opened a whole wide world of things to me---and as you will learn, I do many things a little "out of the box." It's ok...you can just call me weird!
